Mr. Andreas P. Aloneftis

Mr. Aloneftis is currently the Executive Chairman and CEO of Allied Capital, a venture capital management company, after serving briefly as Chairman of MarkeTrends Financial Services and Managing Director and CEO of Olympus Investments and Lambousa Venture Capital. Mr. Aloneftis is also the Executive Vice Chairman of Alliance Reinsurance.

Previously, Mr. Aloneftis served as Managing Director and CEO of Laiki Cyprialife and General Manager, Insurance Services of the Cyprus Popular Bank Group which encompassed Laiki Cyprialife, Laiki Insurance, Laiki Insurance Agencies, Interamerican and Philiki.

Prior to Laiki Cyprialife and the Popular Bank Group (1995-2000), Mr. Alonefitis served as General Manager of American Life Insurance Company in Cyprus (1993-1995), General Manager and CEO of CISCO, a pioneering investment bank he established (1983-1988) and Senior Manager, Investments, of the Cyprus Development Bank (1978-1983).

Between the years 1988-1993, Mr. Aloneftis served as Cyprus’ Minister of Defence.

Mr. Aloneftis holds an MBA degree from Southern Methodist University and is a Fellow of the Association of International Accountants. Mr. Aloneftis pursues actively academic research into corporate governance and is currently a doctoral associate with Henley Management College, UK.

Mr. Aloneftis is a council member of the Association of International Accountants and serves on the board of several public and private companies in Cyprus and abroad. He is married to Nethie and has a son, Alkis and a daughter, Cynthia, both pursuing professional careers in investment banking and finance.
